Putting your rug away for the season, making room for new furniture, or getting ready to move? 📦 Before you roll it up and put it in storage, here are a few tips to help protect your rug and keep it looking its best! 👇
🐑 WOOL RUGS: Wool needs a little extra care! Make sure your rug is clean and completely dry before storing it. Roll it rather than folding it to avoid creases, and protect it from moths and carpet beetles. A cool, dry storage space is best!
🧵 SYNTHETIC RUGS: These are generally more forgiving, but they still need proper care! Make sure the rug is completely dry, roll it instead of folding it, and store it somewhere cool and dry. Avoid damp basements and hot attics where moisture or extreme temperatures can cause problems.
🌿 COTTON, JUTE & SISAL RUGS: Natural fibres can be sensitive to moisture, so keeping these rugs dry is especially important! Roll them carefully and avoid damp storage areas where mould, mildew and musty smells can develop.
✨ SILK, ANTIQUE & DELICATE RUGS: These rugs can be more fragile and may have delicate dyes or foundations that are easily damaged. It's best to consult a rug specialist before storing them to make sure they're handled properly.

❌ Never store a rug that is damp, even if it feels dry on the surface.
❌ Avoid folding rugs, as deep creases can be difficult to remove.
❌ Keep rugs away from damp garages, basements and other humid spaces.
❌ Check stored rugs occasionally for signs of moisture or pests.
