Area Rug Cleaning Machine
Our automatic rug washing machine is equipped with 4 soft disc brushes, high-pressure rinsing, squeegees, and a rug roller to provide deep washing of your area rugs. Rug centrifuges are the most important equipment that every rug cleaner should have. Extracting or removing water from rugs after washing and rinsing is very difficult without the use of a centrifuge. The centrifuge uses centrifical force to remove 90% of the water from the rug. This allows the rug to dry quicker. Because of this, there is less potential problems that may arise with your rug. In this video, you can see that after the rug is removed from the centrifuge, 90% of the water is removed and even toilet paper is almost completely dry.
Area Rug Cleaning in Greater Nanaimo
Rug cleaning, blind cleaning and upholstery cleaning are essential to ensure good health of your family. Research carried out at Duke University by Doctor Christopher Kassotis reveals that dust particles found in homes are capable of carrying hormone-altering chemicals that make the human body gain unhealthy weight.
Dust particles contain synthetic, natural and endocrine-disrupting chemicals that are inhaled, ingested and absorbed through the skin. Amounts of dust as small as 3 micrograms are capable of causing measurable health complications for children. Potential health risks that can be caused by keeping a dusty home include learning disabilities, cognitive problems and weight gain.
Rugs require professional care; dirt can build up in hard to clean areas.

Cleaning Area Rugs – Our In-Shop, 7-Step Process
1 – Initial Area Rug Inspection
A thorough inspection of your rug includes taking measurements and making notes of all possible repairs that may need extra attention.
When measuring your rug for an estimate, always measure the fringe as part of the length. We will quite often spend a large amount of time getting the fringes to look as good as they can, and that is why we consider that to be part of the square footage.
2 – Cleaning Area Rugs – Dust and Soil Removal
In this step we remove the dust and dry soil from the rug. Whether your rugs are handmade or machine processed, they have the unique ability to hold many pounds of dirt. In our experience we find large amounts of sand and dust from the rugs that have made their way into the fibers.
Sand is and especially damaging as it will have a cutting effect on your rug’s yarns. Quite often we have rugs come into our facility and unfortunately they lose a tremendous amount of yarn in the vacuuming process due to a lack of regular rug cleaning.
In order to preserve your area rugs, regular professional cleaning is recommended every 1-2 years.
3 – Color Testing of your Area Rug
Industry standards are to test the unstable colours of your area rug by searching for vegetable or weak dyes in the fibre.
This helps us determine how to proceed with the cleaning to ensure your area rug is restored to its best possible condition.
When weaker dyes are identified, we have specific techniques to determine how to best proceed and care for your rug.
However, some rugs will bleed no matter the precautions taken to control and minimize this. From the colour testing, we are able to identify which rugs will bleed more drastically and will contact you to explain the situation, prior to cleaning to see how you would like to proceed with your rug.
